Re: Princess Diana-England's Rose
"Candle In The Wind"
Goodbye England's rose;
may you ever grow in our hearts.
You were the grace that placed itself
where lives were torn apart.
You called out to our country,
and you whispered to those in pain.
Now you belong to heaven,
and the stars spell out your name.
And it seems to me you lived your life
like a candle in the wind:
never fading with the sunset
when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
along England's greenest hills;
your candle's burned out long before
your legend ever will.
Loveliness we've lost;
these empty days without your smile.
This torch we'll always carry
for our nation's golden child.
And even though we try,
the truth brings us to tears;
all our words cannot express
the joy you brought us through the years.
And it seems to me you lived your life
like a candle in the wind:
never fading with the sunset
when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
along England's greenest hills;
your candle's burned out long before
your legend ever will.
Goodbye England's rose;
may you ever grow in our hearts.
You were the grace that placed itself
where lives were torn apart.
Goodbye England's rose;
from a country lost without your soul,
will miss the wings of your compasion,
more than you will ever know.
And it seems to me you lived your life
like a candle in the wind:
never fading with the sunset
when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
along England's greenest hills;
your candle's burned out long before
your legend ever will.

Re: Princess Diana-England's Rose
Jan, I also met Fergie when she was married to Prince Andrew.... I was at a Garden Party in Berlin to commemorate The Queen's birthday. My "ex-ex" was a Warrant Officer and Infantryman back then...
She was much better looking in real life, but nothing like Diana Princess Of Wales...Here's a pic.....My ma had lots of photos of that day that I gave to her. I must get them and I can show you me in my posh hat...

Oj, Jan....She came to Durham to open a Fisher Price toy factory and she did a walkabout after. That's when I met her..She looked absolutely beautiful...Her skin was like porcelain with not a mark, line or blemish...Her eyes were huge blue pools of kindness, with sweeping lashes like the longest spiders-legs you ever saw...Her nose was on the large side, but in complete proportion to her other features...Aristocratic and proud...And she had the teeniest, tiniest waist..Her voice and laughter was angelic...She was so totally beautiful....As she worked her way along the crowd, she stopped and shook the hands of people around about and then she actaully shook mine and she said to me "I love the colour of your jacket"...
I'll never forget that moment...We were robbed!
Jan, here is the picture of that day...... Look at her!
